House Releases Updated Schedule
Policy & Advocacy
The House released an updated schedule on Friday, and House members are not scheduled to return to Washington for votes until June 30th. However, House lawmakers could return to Washington if the Senate passes a COVID-19 relief package. House committees are operating remotely. Additionally, the House is pushing back its June target date for passing appropriations bills until July, and the House Appropriations Committee will begin their markups in late June. Congress is required to pass 12 appropriations bills to fund the federal government for fiscal year 2021 before the September 30th expiration of current funding levels, otherwise, the government could shut down.
